A unique educational experience with our "SUMMER IN OXFORD" programmes
We offer a range of summer courses which are designed to help students prepare for the next stage of their education, whether this means familiarising themselves with the British education system, impoving English language proficiency, starting GCSE or A Levels, or preparing to go on to university. Our academic environment coupled with a comfortable boarding house offers the perfect place to soak up all that Oxford has to offer.

Residential & Non-Residential programme options:
Week 1 - 18th - 24th August 2019
Week 2 - 25th - 31st August 2019
Week 3 - 1st - 7th September 2019
Programme Option 1: "Modern Technologies and Science Fiction"
Duration: 2 weeks
Age groups: 12 - 14 y.o & 15 - 18 y.o
The programme is designed to introduce the British Education System to international students.
The course is academically intensive (15 tuition hours per week) and provides participants with a detailed understanding of the UK curriculum. During the programme students will complete a project entited - “Modern Technologies and Science Fiction”.
Students will also attend exhibitions: “Thinking 3D: Leonardo to the present”, “Talking Maps”, and “We Look to the Moon” (Weston Library, Oxford) as well as familiarise with the texts of well-known authors: Arthur Conan Doyle, Herbert Wells, Mary Shelley, C.S. Lewis, R.L. Stevenson.
Overview of the programme
Students will have an opportunity to excel in Academic English and acquire the necessary skills and techniques to develop their confidence for further studies and examinations.
Each week will include subject based seminars and afternoon enrichment activities, making the most of all that Oxford has to offer during the summer period.
Tuition is provided by highly qualified tutors who are graduates from Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities.
For students who plan to continue education in the UK, we provide a unique opportunity of 16+ entrance assessment in core subjects (English and Maths) and arrange interviews with the Principal to further develop and explore their educational opportunities.
Parents are welcome to visit the College, and for those interested in taking even greater advantage of this unique opportunity we can also arrange individual tuition in English language.
Programme Option 2: Pre-sessional (I)GCSE / A-level courses
Duration: 1, 2 or 3-week courses
Age groups: 14 - 15 y.o & 16 - 17 y.o
For those who have gained an entry for an (I)GCSE or A-level programmes from September and wish to stay ahead of their peers, we offer one to three-week pre-(I)GCSE / A-level courses.
Overview of the programme
Students will have an opportunity to prepare for the start of the academic year by reviewing the syllabus and topics for their chosen subjects of study. The course will consist of 15 hrs of individual or 30 hrs of group tuition per week.
The programme includes exclusive tours around the colleges of Oxford University which will enable participants to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Oxford, and to immerse themselves in its lavish and famous academic history.
Each week will include subject based seminars and afternoon enrichment activities, making the most of all that Oxford has to offer during the summer period. During the week students will also receive talks on university applications and career advice. Our courses are taught by subject experts who have in-depth knowledge of the UK education system and what is required to get the top grades in all major exam boards for both (I)GCSE and A-level.
We know how important it is for students to feel safe and comfortable when staying away from home. That is why our modern and purpose built accommodation is the perfect place for students to relax and unwind during their time with us.
Cherwell House includes 55 en-suite rooms, laundry facilities, dining and common room and has fast wifi throughout. Students can enjoy home-cooked food including hot breakfasts and a three course meal each evening. There is also a fridge available to keep those late-night snacks!
A world famous city
We are in the heart of Oxford - one of the most vibrant, academic and historical cities in the world. Students will receive tours of the Oxford University Colleges and enjoy some of the exciting activities that the city has to offer.
Residential (boarding) option: £1,375 - this includes Sunday - Saturday accommodation, 3 meals each day, en-suite room and all tutoring
Non-Residential (day) option: £975
