A Word from the Activities Co-Ordinator

What we’ve all been up to

TONY SHERWOOD

Thus far we have enjoyed a wide array of activities, taking full advantage of our unique Oxford setting. We have explored the city by punting long the Isis, taken guided open-top bus tours, and followed the streets and cobble paths meandering through a spectacular array of world-famous architecture and design. We have visited numerous museums - including the Natural History, Ashmolean, Science, Modern Art, Story, Pitt Rivers and Uni Press Museums. Students have attended world-class university lectures and seminars, as well as playing host to guest speakers in house - exploring various subjects from biochemistry to political debate.

Our minds have been stimulated, inspired and enthused; and so have our bodies - the majority of our students are now members of local gyms with access to state of the art equipment. During the evenings after study they have enjoyed badminton, football, basketball, pool, chess, a variety of card games, running, cycling, circuit training, and target mitt boxing. At the weekends we have further challenged ourselves with Go-Karting, Kombat Laser Quest and supporting Oxford City in the FA Cup. We have also visited the Bicester Shopping Village and introduced Foot Golf (new to all!), played through unique crazy golf courses and puzzled our way through escape rooms.

Home is where the field is. Students bonding over a friendly game of football.
