About Cherwell College

Cherwell, a College steeped in the historic splendour and heritage of its location, with all the principal buildings situated in the very heart of the University City of Oxford.

The College was founded over thirty years ago to meet the needs of an increasing number of students wishing not only to receive tuition under close personal supervision, but seeking an alternative to the traditional form of education.

Little was it appreciated at the time that Cherwell would over the years be instrumental in helping to develop a whole new form of education, the tutorial and sixth form College, a concept that is now a well established, recognised, and both a credible and creditable alternative to conventional schooling.

Cherwell has over the years established for itself and maintained a sound reputation based firmly upon its founding principles. Most notable, treating the student as an individual; offering first class teaching by a highly committed and dedicated staff; providing a learning environment that is positive, highly motivating, encourages industry and responsibility, yet is both enjoyable and highly rewarding; and, in addition, making sound provision for the accommodation and welfare of each and every student.
