Cherwell, founded in 1973 is an established College with a well known reputation for encouraging students to achieve high and consistent academic standards. Throughout the academic year Cherwell specialises in preparing students under close personal supervision for entrance into higher education.

Usually, around one hundred and fifty pupils join Cherwell each academic year to be prepared for the GCSE, A-level (AS and A2) and Oxbridge entrance examinations.

The College is situated at Greyfriars in the very heart of Oxford and just five minutes walk from Jesus College. Cherwell’s Manor Parks building (where teaching also takes place) is a two minute walk from the Halls of Residence.

The Easter Course (Cherwell has been looking after pupils at Easter for over thirty years now) has been designed to extend the range of educational assistance offered to students who wish to improve the standard of their academic work.

The structure of the Easter courses is based on our years of experience in locating and correcting those problems which result in students failing to achieve their full potential in public examinations. We aim not only to develop an understanding and appreciation of the subject material, but also the ability to commit this understanding and appreciation to paper in the public examination; to develop a technique, a style of writing upon which the pupil will ultimately be examined. Our ultimate aim and objective is to obviate the need to resit.
